Cottage In The Lane offers vacation cottages bordering a peaceful meadow on the access road to Drakes Island Beach.

     Our lodging facility is small and uncrowed; just ten cottages along a tree lined lane on six scenic acres bordering a wildlife preserve.  The quiet and peacefulness of Cottage In The Lane will make you glad that you chose us over lodging near busy Rte. 1.  We are off the "Beaten Path," under a mile from Drakes Island Beach, and a touch closer to what a real vacation is all about.

     Unlike the activity level of large establishments, our guests can enjoy an uncrowded pool, peaceful picnic areas and quiet screened-in porches where they can just sit and read a good book or simply listen to the birds.

     Set back away from the road, the property offers a safe area for children to play lawn games, enjoy our wooden gym/swing set, or swim in our large heated pool.

A family owned lodging for over thirty years, we take great pride in the cleanliness and comfort of our cottages and the hospitality we extend to our guests.

The property borders the Rachel Carson and Laudholm Farm wildlife preserves.  Drakes Island Beach is a sandy swimming beach, uncrowded, non-commercial and family oriented.  Ogunquit and Kennebunkport are just a few minutes drive.

     A large number  of restaurants, shops, rare and old bookstores, antique dealers and other places of interest are also nearby.  Cottage In The Lane is within easy driving distance to L.L. Bean and other factory outlets, York's Wild Kingdom, FuntownSplashtown USA, golf, mini golf, walking trails and many other family attractions.

Vacationers Tip:  OFF SEASON  is a great time to visit for a vacation or weekend getaway.  The foliage usually peaks during the early weeks of October and it is also a great time to take advantage of many of the attractions in the area at lowered rates.  Enjoy quiet walks on the beach and forests, factory outlet shopping and just getting away to this beautiful part of the Maine Seacoast.
