Rates for a two-bedroom or deluxe two-bedroom cottage are based on four guests. Rates for a one-bedroom cottage are based on two guests.
A maximum of three people may stay in a one-bedroom cottage and five people in a two-bedroom or deluxe two-bedroom cottage, regardless of age.
Add $20 per night for each guest above the standard occupancy up to the maximum.
All overnight guests must be registered.
Parking is limited to two cars per cottage. Visitors may ask about parking near the office for brief stays. Boats, trailers and RVs are not allowed.
Use of the pool is for registered overnight guests only. Day visitors of overnight guests are not permitted to use the pool.
Quiet hours are from 9:30 p.m. until 8 a.m.
We do not accommodate large groups or parties.

No smoking or vaping is permitted in the cottages, on porches or at the pool or playground.
We regret that pets are not allowed.

Summer reservations are accepted by the week only, from Saturday to Saturday.
We accept reservations for shorter stays in the spring and fall with a three-night minimum.
We welcome requests for monthly or seasonal stays with plenty of advance notice.

A deposit of half the rental amount is due at the time of a reservation.
The balance is due upon arrival, payable by cash, check or credit card. Make checks payable in U.S. funds to Cottage in the Lane.
A 9% Maine Lodging Tax will be added.
We may require a security deposit or decline future reservation requests if cottages are left in a state that needs excessive cleaning or repairs.

A six-week notice of cancellation is required for a refund.
For cancellations within six weeks of arrival date, the deposit will be refunded only if the cottage is re-rented for the same amount of time.
A $50 service charge applies to all cancellations.
We do not offer refunds for early departures.
